Information on Online Application for Late Course Add/Drop
- Students should first consult the course teacher concerned about their intention to late add or late drop the class concerned, and seek for advice. If the application can be considered via the online platform, the teacher will provide his/her CUHK email address to students and advise them to submit the online application. Otherwise, students should use the hardcopy application form for the applications.
- Students MUST check on RES homepage for the list of subject codes that online application for late course add/drop is not applicable and they should use the hardcopy application form under this situation.
- Please observe the instructions stated on the online application form and input CORRECTLY on the form the course code and section code (if applicable) of the course(s). The online application form System will ONLY check if it is a valid course code, and will NOT check that against the course registration record of individual students in Summer Session 2019-20. Therefore, it is students’ own responsibility to input the correct course code and section code for course(s) to be late added/dropped.
- An acknowledgement email will be sent to students’ campus email account after each submission. If students do not receive the email within ONE day after their submission, please login the System to check the submission records or contact RES for assistance.
- After submission, if students wish to cancel their applications, they may login to the System, select the online application form concerned, click “Withdraw Application” and then click "OK" to confirm cancellation of application. Students should then inform the course teacher and course department concerned.

Information on Online Application for Late Course Add/Drop
- Students should follow the prescribed procedures and submit the application:
① Approach course teacher for advice ② Submit online application for consideration of course teacher and the approval of relevant offices/Faculty Dean/Registrar ③ RES will notify students of the application result and update CUSIS, if necessary.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) if you encounter any problems in completing the procedures. - Students who committed academic dishonesty may still be disciplined in accordance with related procedures even if they are approved to late drop the course.

- Please state the special reason(s) for late course add/drop and attach supporting document(s) (e.g. medical certificate), if any, in the online application form for consideration of the parties concerned.
- The application for late add/drop CANNOT be cancelled once submitted in the system.
- This online form is NOT applicable to students of International Asian Studies Programme (IASP) and postgraduate students. Students concerned should contact the Office of Academic Links and Graduate School Office respectively for advice on late course add/drop procedures.
- For students who have to late add/drop postgraduate courses of level 5000 or above, please contact RES to obtain hardcopy application form.

Late drop option is not offered for some professional programmes or certain other courses. Please refer to the information announced in RES homepage. For such courses, you will have to follow the normal procedure for dropping courses as stipulated by the University Regulations.
If the course you want to drop is not one of the above-mentioned courses but you cannot drop it under CUSIS by yourself, either because it is a postgraduate course or you have not also dropped its co-requisite course (e.g. the message “You cannot drop this class without also dropping its co-requisite” appears for the latter case), please send e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by 2 May 2020 (10:00 p.m. HK Time) for RES to follow up. Email received AFTER the above deadline shall NOT be entertained.
Under no circumstances will you be allowed to drop all courses registered in this term. If you do not wish to register any courses in a term, you should provide full justifications and apply for suspension of studies for consideration by the relevant authorities following the University’s existing procedure.
