IMPORTANT Reminder for Centralized Course Examinations in 2nd Term 2024-25 |
Dear Students, |
The Centralized Course Examinations for 2nd term 2024-25 will begin on 24 April 2025. Please be reminded of the following and observe all relevant arrangements. |
1. |
To ensure the correctness of information, students MUST check again their individual FINAL examination timetable for the date, time, venue and seat number assigned for each examination. Students who do not know their seat number will need to line up outside the examination venue to wait for seating arrangements, and will only be provided assistance when RES staff have prepared all examination arrangements. Therefore, in order to avoid any possible delay, please check carefully and jot down the seat number (as stated in your own examination timetable) and take up the assigned seat for your examination. |
Individual students with special educational needs (SEN) should follow the information on date, time, and venue stated in the latest e-mail sent to them to attend the final examination with special arrangements made. |
For students who have been approved for late add/drop AFTER the release of final examination timetable, their personal examination schedule on CUSIS will NOT be further updated. For late add of courses which have centralized course examinations, students should have been notified details of the examination by e-mail. It is students’ responsibility to attend the centralized course examinations as scheduled, as there will NOT be further individual update of examination schedule in CUSIS. For late drop cases, students should NOT attend the relevant scheduled examination. They will be disqualified from the related examination even if they attempt to take it. Besides, some course teachers may announce changes in their examination arrangements. Please note their email notice and follow accordingly, as there will NOT be further individual update of the examination timetable. |
2. |
All students should bring valid Student ID card for all course examinations. Please RENEW the card if it has already expired, as card reader devices will be used to take attendance for centralized course examinations. Students can check their attendance record one day after the examination under “My Event” on the Registration and Attendance System (RAS). Report to RES if there are any discrepancies. |
3. |
Before entering the examination centre, students MUST switch off their mobile phones and any other electronic devices with communication or photo-taking functions (including smart watches). Invigilators will check and report any irregularities if students attempt to use such devices after admittance inside the examination centre. It is a violation of examination rule if students attempt to use such electronic devices during the examination period. |
4. |
The University places very high importance on honesty in academic work, and adopts a policy of zero tolerance on academic dishonesty. All students MUST comply with the respective rules and regulations for taking examinations. All acts of academic dishonesty, once established by the concerned authorities, shall be disciplined in accordance with the University’s policies and guidelines governing academic honesty. Demerit records will be marked on student’s academic transcript and for some serious cases, the penalty includes lowering of degree honours as a result of academic dishonesty. Therefore, students MUST take academic honesty very seriously when attending any examinations/tests/other forms of assessments. |
Among the examination rules, please pay special attention to: |
i. |
Bring to the examination centre the student identity card. |
ii. |
Those who arrive more than 30 minutes late shall not be permitted to take the examination. |
iii. |
Do not start reading the question paper or writing without permission. |
iv. |
Follow “Pens-down” instruction. |
5. |
If students are sick or have other health issues on the date(s) of examination, they should NOT attend the examination and should apply for absence from examination. Please observe our e-mail notifications dated 6 March 2025 and 20 March 2025 for information about absence from centralized course examinations. The original medical certificate signed by a registered medical practitioner recommending sick leave covering the date(s) of the examination concerned (not attendance certificate) should be presented to RES if students apply for application for absence from examinations due to medical and/or other health reasons. |
6. |
For bad weather arrangements, please observe “General Arrangements for Classes and Examinations on Approach of Typhoons and Rainstorms”. |
With best regards, |
