Dear Students, |
The first teaching day of 2nd term 2024-25 will begin on 6 January 2025. Students should pay attention to the following information pertaining to course add/drop of this academic term, declaration of second major, application for change of study period and suspension of studies. |

Applications for exceeding course load (for update of term course load for course add/drop period) should be submitted during the specified time as announced on RES homepage. Late application will NOT be accepted. Please read the detailed information on RES homepage before submission. For year 1 students, please observe their course load information before submitting any applications for exceeding course load. |
b. |
Course Add/Drop on CUSIS (13 – 19 January 2025) |
If applicable, students should add/drop courses under CUSIS from 13 January 2025 (8:30 p.m.) to 19 January 2025 (8:30 p.m.) except for courses with "add/drop consent" which are to be handled by submission of hard copy form. To free up quotas for other students, students should DROP the courses as soon as possible and by 8:30 p.m. on 19 January 2025 if they no longer intend to register for the course. Departments may NOT allow any drop of the courses during 20 – 24 January 2025 unless with special reasons. Students who are on wait list will enroll the course(s) automatically whenever the quota is increased, or when the quota is freed up by other students. It is students' own responsibility to check their updated course enrolment under “View My Classes” on a daily basis. |
c. |
Special Course Add/Drop at Department (20 – 24 January 2025) |
Students with special reasons may approach course offering departments for course add/drop during 20 – 24 January 2025. |
d. |
Regulations on Course Load |
Students should observe Regulation 5.0 of the General Regulations Governing Full-time Undergraduate Studies on “Course Load and Selection” regarding the prescribed course load of at least 9 units and no more than 18 units of courses to be registered in any academic term within the normative study period, unless otherwise permitted. RES will send e-mail reminders to those students with course load problem. |

As stated in our notice posted in May 2024, students may declare a second major during the course add/drop period of 2nd term if they have already fulfilled the graduation requirements of the first major and are in their last term of attendance within the normative study period. Application form for “Declaration of Second Major” is obtainable from RES counter during the period listed above. Late application will NOT be accepted. |
