ALL students [except those students listed in (3) below] MUST submit the application for change of major under CUSIS (select “Application” > “Program-Related Change”) on or before 30 June, indicating fulfillment of at least one of the conditions listed in (1) above, and upload their document, if applicable, for departments’ reference. 3. |
Students of broad-based programmes (e.g. Social Science, Science), and those who registered to Dual Degree Programmes (DDP) or Structured Double Major Programmes (DMP) MUST obtain the application form for change of major at RES counter. Before these students can be considered for change to other Major Programme, broad-based admitted students MUST declare a major within their Faculty/specified programmes while DDP and DMP students MUST opt-out of the Major Programme concerned. The final approval for change of major is subject to the completion of the above requirements. |
4. |
For those who apply via CUSIS, Departments will indicate approval or disapproval under CUSIS during 3 – 7 July. Students are required to confirm their acceptance of the NEW major (for approval cases) from 10 – 14 July under CUSIS. Once a new major is accepted, all other application(s), if any, will be rejected automatically. This confirmation means the final decision. |

3.2 |
A student may according to the prescribed procedures and within the specified period apply with valid reasons on a prescribed form to the Registrar for approval for alteration of his/her period of study. Shortening of the normative study period should be made 18 months before the expected graduation term while extension beyond the normative study period should only be made within the specified application period before the commencement of the last year of attendance of the normative study period. |
3. |
Students should have fulfilled (or at least nearly fulfilled) all graduation requirements of the first degree as stipulated by the concerned programmes for registration of the second degree. They need to follow the programme structure for completion of the double degree programme and fulfill the conditions for acceptance into the second degree. The fee for the double degree programme will apply once students register in the second degree. Students should be assessed for the graduation requirements of first degree prior to the second degree. Students who fulfill all graduation requirements for the first degree will be assessed and the graduation results will be released in late July. |
