Information for students who require visa/permit to study at CUHK

All undergraduate students who require a visa/permit to study at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) must input their visa information under CUSIS either at the time of new student registration, or once the documents are available after arrival in Hong Kong and before the term starts. It is students’ responsibility to hold a valid visa/permit and to update the latest visa information and upload the visa documents (including the landing slip, if available) under CUSIS to demonstrate that they are legitimate to study at CUHK.

Students may refer to the following references when updating visa information under CUSIS:

1) computer-based training for students (point 1f.) and
2) guidelines and samples for completing the visa/permit and landing slip information

For new students, they MUST input the visa information and upload the visa/permit and landing slip under CUSIS before the term starts.

For current students, they may approach the Hong Kong Immigration Department (IMMD) to apply for extension of stay, if necessary, within 4 weeks before the limit of stay expires, in accordance with Q10. of the Immigration Policy on Study. For enquiries, please contact IMMD at enquiry@immd.gov.hk or (852) 2824 6111 for information, or contact the Learning Enhancement Officers of the Office of Student Affairs, CUHK at leos@cuhk.edu.hk or (852) 3943 1526 for assistance.

Once the application is approved, students MUST update the information under CUSIS immediately by adding a new visa information record for inputting the “permitted to remain(extended) until” date and uploading the renewed visa/permit.

Students who do not hold a valid visa/permit are not allowed to attend classes.
