Re:  IMPORTANT Reminder regarding Centralized Course Examinations in 2nd Term 2025-26

Dear Students,

The Centralized Course Examinations for 2nd term 2025-26 will begin on 22 April 2026.  Please be reminded of the following and observe all relevant arrangements.

1.

All students SHOULD check again their individual FINAL examination timetable for the date, time, venue and seat number assigned for each examination.  Students who do not know their seat number will need to line up outside the examination venue to wait for seating arrangements, and will only be provided assistance when staff have finished all other examination preparations.  Therefore, in order to avoid any possible delay, please check carefully and jot down the seat number (as stated in your own examination timetable) and take up the assigned seat for your examination.

Individual students who have reported their special educational needs (SEN) should refer to the information on date, time, and venue stated in the latest e-mail sent to them and attend the final examination(s) with special accommodations made.

For students who have been approved for late add/drop AFTER the release of final examination timetable, their personal examination schedule on CUSIS will NOT be further updated.  For late add of courses which have centralized course examinations, students should have been notified details of the examination by e-mail.  It is students’ responsibility to attend the centralized course examinations as scheduled, as there will NOT be further individual update of examination schedule in CUSIS.  For late drop cases, students should NOT attend the relevant scheduled examination.  They will be disqualified from the related examination even if they attempt to take it.  Besides, some course teachers may make announcement regarding changes in their examination arrangements.  Please pay attention to their emails and follow accordingly since there will NOT be further individual update of the examination timetable.

2.

All students should bring valid Student ID card to attend course examinations.  Please RENEW the card if it has already expired, as the card reader devices will not be able to read student information of expired Student ID cards for taking attendance.  Students can check their attendance record one day after the examination under “My Event” on the Registration and Attendance System (RAS).  Report to the Registration and Examinations Section (RES) if there are any discrepancies.

3.

Before entering the examination centre, students MUST switch off their mobile phones and any other electronic devices with communication or photo-taking functions (including smart watches).  Invigilators will check and report any irregularities if students attempt to use such devices after admittance inside the examination centre.  It is a violation of examination rule if students attempt to use such electronic devices during the examination period.

4.

The University places very high importance on honesty in academic work, and adopts a policy of zero tolerance on academic dishonesty.  All students MUST comply with the respective rules and regulations for taking examinations.  All acts of academic dishonesty, once established by the concerned authorities, shall be disciplined in accordance with the University’s policies and guidelines governing academic honesty.  Demerit records will be marked on student’s academic transcript and for some serious cases, the penalty includes lowering of degree honours.  Therefore, students MUST take academic honesty very seriously when attending any examinations/tests/other forms of assessments.

Among the examination rules, the following points are highlighted for students’ attention:

  i. Bring to the examination centre the student identity card.
ii. Those who arrive more than 30 minutes late shall not be permitted to take the examination.
iii. Do not start reading the question paper or write anything (including your student ID or seat number) without permission.
iv. Follow “Pens-down” instruction.

5.

Students who are sick or have other health issues on the date(s) of examination and are unable to attend the scheduled examination should apply for absence from examination.  Please refer to the emails dated 5 March 2026 and 19 March 2026 from our Section for relevant information.  The original medical certificate (not attendance certificate) signed by a registered medical practitioner recommending sick leave covering the period(s) of the examination concerned should be presented to RES if students apply for absence from examinations based on medical and/or other health reasons.

6.

For bad weather arrangements, please note “General Arrangements for Classes and Examinations on Approach of Typhoons and Rainstorms”.

Enquiries can be directed to RES at ugadmin@cuhk.edu.hk.
