Re: Important Information regarding the Start of the New Academic Year 2026-27
Dear Students,
Please note the following important information in relation to the start of the new academic year 2026-27 and course enrolment under CUSIS.
1. |
Update personal information under CUSIS |
All students should review their own personal information under CUSIS, and update the information whenever necessary. The University may need to contact you and/or your emergency contact person by phone/email/mail whenever urgent situations arise. |
For students who are going to graduate in 2026-27, please be reminded that upon graduation, students’ personal data will be converted to alumni data for further communication and other purposes, where applicable. |
2. |
Check Major, Study Period and Expected Graduation Term under CUSIS |
For students who have applied and been approved for declaration/change of major or study period with effect from 1 August 2026, they should check carefully under CUSIS ‘My Academics’ whether the records have been updated and are accurate. Besides, all students should also check carefully their expected term of graduation since they will only be assessed for graduation in that particular term. Any discrepancies should be reported to the Registration and Examinations Section (RES) of the Registry for clarification. |
3. |
First Term Course Enrollment under CUSIS |
• |
Students should check their time appointments (i.e. login time) for course registration under “Enrollment Dates” on CUSIS starting from 4 August 2026. It is students’ responsibility to check the time appointments under CUSIS and logon CUSIS at the designated time periods for course registration. For details of course enrollment, please refer to “First Term, 2026-27 Course Registration and Add/Drop” posted on RES website (under “Information for Current Students”). |
• |
As departments may make amendments to the timetable information and/or course enrolment rules, students MUST check their eligibility to enroll the course(s) prior to course registration. |
• |
Students should always refer to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) first and contact RES by email (ugadmin@cuhk.edu.hk) with screen capture of the problem message if they encounter any problems during course registration. |
4. |
Assessment Policy |
Please take note of the University’s policy on assessment of student learning in taught programmes which is accessible at this website: http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/policy/assessment/. |
5. |
Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools in Teaching, Learning and Assessments – A Guide for Students |
Kindly note the “Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools in Teaching, Learning and Assessments – A Guide for Students” (updated in May 2025) which is available at this website: https://www.aqs.cuhk.edu.hk/documents/restricted/staff-and-students/A-Guide-for-Students_Use-of-AI-Tools.pdf |
Each course will adopt an approach on the use of AI tools in students’ learning activities and/or assessments and the details will be spelt out clearly in the course outline or learning activity/assessment guide. Please study the course outline and/or learning activity/assessment guide of individual assignments in detail and ensure that you follow the instruction and seek clarification from the course teacher if in doubt. Any improper/unauthorized use of AI tools in learning activities and assessments will be handled in accordance with the University’s Procedures for Handling Cases of Academic Dishonesty. |
Please pay close attention to the latest information and instruction provided by the course teacher as the guidelines and policies on the use and application of AI tools in teaching and learning will be regularly reviewed and updated. |
6. |
Copyright of Lecture Recordings |
Students should note that copyright of the lecture recordings shared in the course, whether they are produced by the teachers, students, or peer note-takers, belongs to the University. Students should not share the lecture recordings with others without obtaining prior written consent from the teachers concerned. Additionally, unless otherwise agreed/arranged (e.g. for students with special educational needs), students should not record lectures without the teacher’s consent. |
7. |
e-Communication from RES |
Please be reminded once again that emails/scanned copy of letters sent to individual students will ONLY be issued from this designated mailbox: “RES NO Reply” (res.noreply@cuhk.edu.hk). For conservation purposes, hardcopy letters will not be sent to students’ mailing address except for cases related to academic problems/discontinuation/possible discontinuation of studies. If any students require the original copy of the letter issued by RES, they can contact our staff at our counter (10/F, Yasumoto International Academic Park) within 6 months from the issue date of the letter. The original copy may be destroyed after the 6-month period. |
